Don’t Make a Flawed February Move

February in Wisconsin is more a mood than a season.

Yes, the days are getting longer but so is the winter angst.

This is the time of year we see the most impulsive Medicare plan changes. Maybe it’s the carrot of another plan offering neat blister-pack prescriptions. Or an extra perk that really costs more in premiums for the long run.

Here’s the problem: one plan feature should never outweigh the big picture.

If you are tempted to make a switch, ask yourself:

  • Are my doctors still in network?

  • What are the real copays and out-of-pocket costs?

  • How are my actual medications covered?

  • Am I reacting to frustration… or making a clear decision?

And BEWARE: if someone is calling you out of the blue pushing you to switch, that’s a red flag. Cold calling Medicare beneficiaries is illegal. You should never feel rushed or pressured.

Are there good reasons to change plans? Absolutely. But those decisions should be thoughtful and researched.

Woodside is here to offer guidance and answer your questions at NO COST.

Wisconsin winters end. But your Medicare decisions will stick around much longer. Make sure any move is the right move for all seasons.
